PATHWAYS, MIRFIELD I.T. tutor Leslie Wilkinson would like to express her thanks to all for looking after her throughout the ICT course. A special mention is given to Angela and Matt for their time, energy and enthusiasm towards helping the course run smoothly. The class included a great bunch of computer buffs, eager and willing to learn new things, which made Leslie's short time at Mirfield a pleasurable one. |

Online Day - Awards Night We are holding an Online Day to raise awareness of our I.T. courses on Friday 24th October 2008 10:30am – 3:30pm at the Walsh Building, Town Hall Way, Dewsbury . There will be demonstrations by tutors and an opportunity for anyone interested in learning I.T. to try it out. Everyone welcome! We also have an Awards Evening taking place later on the same day at Hanging Heaton WMC Dewsbury - 7:30pm until 11:00pm. The evening will include the Awards Ceremony a DJ, a raffle and an Auction for assorted prizes. All proceeds going to the DP-EVH. |

Prize Draw Raffle The winning tickets for the raffle were kindly drawn for us by Umar Maniar of Worklink on the 25th July. The next raffle draw will take place at our Awards Night on the 24th October 2008. Tickets will be on sale shortly and prizes include a Sony PSP, 2 Theatre tickets and a 3 course meal for 2. Funds Raised At our recent staff/student night out at the Old Colonial pub in Mirfield on the 22nd August we managed to raise £147 in funds for the DP-EVH. A great time was had by all and we look forward to the next one. |

Joanne Berry was employed by the DP-EVH to work 3 days a week as an I.T. Tutor and is now a full time member of staff. Joanne completed her Certificate in Education last year, whilst continuing to work the other days at Lloyd’stsb in Slaithwaite where she had worked for the last 16 years. Karen Reynolds started courses at the DP-EVH back in 2005 and gained various I.T. qualifications and a Diploma. She still volunteers in I.T. classes and is now employed part-time as an Admin/IAG (Information and Guidance) assistant. Melanie Booth joined the DP-EVH in 2007 through Learndirect, she then took various I.T. courses and volunteered her time in classes. She is now employed part-time as an Admin/IAG (Information and Guidance) assistant. |
