A History of the DP-EVH continued

In 1997 we were funded by Training and Enterprise Council to deliver the first of our NVQ level 2 courses. This led to being funded by Dewsbury Single Regeneration Budget to deliver NVQs for the next three years.

Classes provide access to computers and IT learning2001 saw the onset of UK Online delivered locally by Kirklees Communities On line (KCOL). UK Online was a major Government initiative to enable everyone to have access to computers, the Internet and e-mail on their own doorstep. Therefore UK Online centres were based in local communities.

This opened the doors to the world of electronic communication, information and learning.

At the DP-EVH, as well as providing access to the computers, staff were also on hand to help people explore opportunities for further learning through ICT.

2002 saw a major change in the DP-EVH.

We were the first voluntary organisation in Yorkshire to be funded directly by Learning and Skills Council (LSC) to deliver both NVQ2 and NVQ3 courses. more about the DP-EVH
